Who We Are
Fishplace and Farm Nigeria was born in Ilorin, Kwara State, from something most people would call stubbornness. We call it conviction.
It started with a question that would not go away: why do so many fish farmers in Nigeria lose money? The fingerlings die within weeks. The feed advice is wrong. The "experts" disappear after the sale. We watched it happen to neighbours, family, and friends who poured their savings into ponds only to harvest heartbreak.
So we built something different. We started breeding our own catfish and tilapia fingerlings behind Gbagba Secondary School, off Airport Road in Ilorin. Not in a fancy lab, but in real ponds, under real Nigerian conditions. We obsessed over water quality, broodstock genetics, and early-stage nutrition until our survival rates hit numbers most hatcheries only claim on paper.
Today, Fishplace and Farm Nigeria is the partner that hundreds of farmers across the country trust to supply their foundation stock, train their workers, and guide them from stocking to harvest. We are not the biggest name in Nigerian aquaculture. But the farmers who know us will tell you: we are the name they trust.
Across Kwara, Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, and beyond. Each one a partnership, not just a transaction.
Our fingerlings are bred for Nigerian conditions. That means they survive the real world, not just the laboratory.
Five years of hands-in-the-water experience. Breeding, training, consulting, and growing alongside our farmers.
Our Mission & Vision
Our Mission
To make profitable fish farming accessible to every Nigerian, regardless of experience or location, by providing premium fingerlings, practical training, and honest guidance that turns first-time farmers into confident producers.
Our Vision
A Nigeria where fish farming is a reliable path to wealth, where locally raised fish feeds every table, and where aquaculture is recognised as one of the smartest investments any Nigerian can make. We are building that future, one pond at a time.
What We Stand For
Fish for Everyone
Nigeria imports billions of naira worth of fish every year while our rivers, ponds, and tanks sit underused. We believe every community should be able to produce its own protein. That is why we make it easy and affordable for anyone to start farming fish, whether you have one pond or fifty.
Profit with Purpose
We do not romanticise farming. Farmers need to eat, pay school fees, and build wealth. Every fingerling we sell, every training we run, and every investment we structure is designed around one outcome: putting real profit in the farmer's pocket. Purpose without profit is just a hobby.
Food Security
Every kilogram of catfish raised locally is a kilogram Nigeria does not need to import. We see our farmers as front-line soldiers in the fight against food insecurity. When we help a farmer in Ilorin succeed, we are feeding families in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. That is the ripple effect we are building.
"We do not just sell fingerlings. We sell the confidence that comes from knowing your fish will survive, your investment will grow, and your farm will feed people. That is the real product."
Our Team
Behind every healthy fingerling and successful harvest is a team that genuinely cares about your results.
